Akuji the Demon is a Japanese platform game whereby the entire game is one big level.
The first thing you have to do is, search the orange ball with the double arrows in it. If you got that, you can jump much better by pressing twice the arrow key (see picture above), etc...
I added these pictures because the game and the readme files are is in Japanese. Although all the in game text is in Japanese, absolutely none of it is neccesary to play through the game and there is little story to the game anyways.

Controls
Z = starting the game
Z or space = Jump
X = Fire
C = Pause
Esc = exit the game
arrow keys = forwards/backwards
